MRI - Pituitary
MRI Pituitary is a specialized imaging test that provides detailed images of the pituitary gland, a small but vital gland located at the base of the brain responsible for regulating various hormones in the body.
This scan is highly effective in detecting pituitary tumors (adenomas), cysts, inflammation, and structural abnormalities. It also helps assess the surrounding structures such as the optic chiasm and nearby brain regions.
MRI offers excellent soft tissue contrast and is the preferred method for evaluating pituitary disorders. It is commonly used in patients with hormonal imbalances, unexplained headaches, vision problems, or suspected endocrine disorders.
The scan may be performed with or without contrast, depending on the clinical requirement, to enhance visualization of small lesions.
The purpose of MRI Pituitary test is to evaluate the pituitary gland and surrounding structures.
