USG - Pelvis
USG - PELVIS is a non-invasive imaging examination that uses sound waves to create detailed images of the pelvic organs and surrounding tissues. The scan may be performed through the abdomen (transabdominal ultrasound) and, in some cases, through the vagina (transvaginal ultrasound) for more detailed evaluation.
In women, the scan assesses the uterus, endometrium, ovaries, fallopian tubes (when visible), cervix, urinary bladder, and pelvic cavity. It helps identify conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, pelvic infections, abnormal bleeding, endometriosis, uterine abnormalities, and masses.
Pelvic ultrasound is also commonly used to evaluate pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, infertility concerns, and early pregnancy-related conditions. In men, pelvic ultrasound may assess the bladder, prostate, and surrounding pelvic structures when required.
The scan is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation exposure, making it a commonly recommended diagnostic imaging test.
